Free jet centrifuges

Centrifuges for the purification of lubricants and other soiled fluids consist of an outer case and a central spindle, around which a rotor spins at high speed. The Fil-Tec centrifuges separate extremely fine dirt particles of less than 1 micron from oil and other fluids without reducing the proportion of additives in the oil.

This extremely fine separation means that filter webs -e.g. in the main flow - admit less dirt and guarantee the longer service life of main flow filter. The operation times of the main flow filters and the oil change intervals are considerably longer.

Free jet centrifuges function:

Centrifuges for the purification of lubricants and other soiled fluids consist of an outer case and a central spindle, around which a rotor spins at high speed. The lubricant is pumped under pressure into the case of the centrifuge and is transferred to the cleaning chamber of the rotor via the central spindle. After passing through the cleaning chamber, the oil exits again from the lower part of the rotor through two tangentially opposed jets. The oil exiting from the jets causes the rotor to turn at high velocity. The rotor can reach speeds of up to 10,000 rpm, depending upon the size. The resulting centrifugal force (greater than 3,000 g) causes the impurities to migrate to the outside, where they form a dense layer on the inner wall of the rotor. The compacted impurities are then simply removed with a previously inserted paper liner. The Mann+Hummel centrifuges separate extremely fine dirt particles of less than 1 micron from oil and other fluids without reducing the proportion of additives in the oil. This extremely fine separation means that filter webs -e.g. in the main flow - admit less dirt and guarantee the longer service life of main flow filter. The operation times of the main flow filters and the oil change intervals are considerably longer.
